Spontaneous theatre in CAN BRIANS prison and in the charity ARED

POSTED IN activities 24.11.2009

In March of 2004, the tutors of the Department of Specialised Attention (DAE) in the prison of Can Brians invited Oriol Blanch, director of “els cartògrafs” theatre company, to give a 4 hour spontaneous theatre workshop. After this workshop and with the all the members of “els cartògrafs”, two monthly sessions were given until January 2006. An open session in the prison was held and recorded by Channel Quatro on 18th December 2005.

Els Cartografs began collaborating with the ARED charity supporting labour reinsertion in the May of 2007. They voluntarily lead two weekly groups in sessions of two hours. In June 2008 they gave a presentation of their work throughout the year in front of all the convicts, staff and friends of the charity. This collaboration ended in March 2009 due to a lack of funds and resources from the charity ARED.
